Q.: How many people do you have on your team? Could you tell us a bit more about your longest serving team members?

Inga: Within our thriving manufacturing team, we have a dedicated group of twenty-eight individuals who bring their expertise and passion to every aspect of our production process. Among them, six exceptional individuals hold the position of department managers, overseeing various vital functions within our operation. These leaders bring their extensive knowledge and experience to guide their respective teams, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and cohesion. The remaining members of our team are the skilled artisans who breathe life into our products with their deft hands and meticulous attention to detail. Together, we form a harmonious collective where each person's unique skills and contributions blend seamlessly to create exceptional results.

Allow me to introduce one of our esteemed long-serving team members, Regina, whose dedication and unwavering commitment to our craft have been an invaluable asset to our success. Regina's journey with us has been a testament to her versatility and continuous growth. She has played pivotal roles in various departments, including packaging, quality control, and more. Regina's tireless efforts and exceptional performance have earned her the responsibility of managing our ironing and packaging department. In this crucial role, she ensures that every item leaving our sewing studio is flawless and meticulously presented. Her meticulous approach and ability to lead with precision and grace have made her an invaluable member of our team.
Q.: What does a regular day at the sewing studio look like?

Inga: At our bustling sewing studio, every day is an intricate tapestry of creativity, precision, and seamless coordination. As the sun rises, we embark on our daily routine with cutting and sewing products that have been prioritized for online orders, given their urgency. Linen Tales offers an extensive range of meticulously crafted products, encompassing everything from luxurious linen bedding to elegant tabletop essentials and delightful kitchen linens. With each item available in a plethora of colors and sizes, our production process demands meticulous planning and mindful execution. We strive to utilize the precise amount of fabric necessary, aiming to minimize waste and uphold our commitment to sustainability.

Following the initial phase of cutting and sewing, we transition to refining and perfecting the products created the previous day. Our team painstakingly irons and carefully packages each item, ensuring that they exude the utmost quality and attention to detail.
As the day draws to a close, the fruits of our labor are gently placed into sturdy boxes, awaiting their next destination: the shipping department. These meticulously packaged treasures are prepared for their onward journey, where they will be dispatched to our valued customers, bringing joy and comfort to homes near and far.
Q.: Inga, as the manager of the manufacturing and supply department, what challenges do you face at work?

Inga: My role is multifaceted and comes with its fair share of challenges and obstacles. Every department encounters its unique set of trials, and it is my responsibility to navigate through them while fostering an environment of inspiration, motivation, and belief in our collective capabilities.

One of my foremost tasks is to inspire and motivate the team, instilling in them the confidence to overcome hurdles and reach our shared goals. When unexpected circumstances arise, such as quality issues or an increased workload, it becomes paramount for me to uplift the team's spirit, fostering resilience and a relentless focus on delivering excellence.
Q.: The team is manufacturing products for both B2C and B2B clients. Given that there are many orders you probably encounter a demanding client from time to time, how do you ensure the quality of the products is always the best?

Inga: Simple - we put love and attention into everything we do: from cutting and sewing to ironing and packaging. Also, because Linen Tales as a company has deep-rooted linen traditions, we have a great deal of knowledge on how to handle the fabric and make the best out of it.
In addition to that, every product undergoes three quality checks. First after washing, then after ironing, and finally during the packaging process. Before transferring the order to the shipping department, we double-check to ensure that the boxes contain the right products.
Also, with B2B clients we confirm the final contents of the order by sending product photographs from the sewing studio. We photograph the items, send the pictures to the client and once we receive confirmation that everything looks good, we pack and ship the order.

Q.: What fairtrade standards do you apply?

Inga: We ensure fair wages by engaging in collective bargaining or negotiation procedures that actively involve workers and their representatives. The well-being of our employees is a top priority, and we maintain suitable ventilation, lighting, and temperature control to ensure safe and healthy working conditions. Additionally, we have implemented measures to prevent accidents, injuries, and exposure to harmful substances. Our team members work a maximum of 8 hours per day, excluding weekends, and are entitled to paid holidays amounting to 20 days per year. Discrimination and harassment are strictly prohibited within our organization.

Q.: Not all manufacturing steps are done in your sewing studio. How do you choose the right partners?

Inga: The main criteria are reliability and trust. It takes time and effort to find partners and create good relationships. So we highly value our long-term partners and appreciate the mutual trust and the opportunities to learn from each other.

Q.: Is it true you personally use many linen products at home? Why would you recommend choosing linen?

Inga: Yes, you will find a lot of linen at my home. I love it because linen is sustainable, highly durable, and easily washable. Out of everything, linen bedding is what I adore the most and so does my family. It’s highly breathable and moisture-wicking so it’s great all year round as you don’t feel cold in winter or hot in summer. Linen is all about comfort and softness.
