Home Interior Trends For 2020

HOME INTERIOR TRENDS FOR 2020

As the spring is rapidly approaching, we can’t help but think about redecorating or adding something new to our home. It feels nice to update the spaces from time to time and get them in tune with the season and our inner state. To give you a few ideas, we are sharing some of the biggest interior trends for 2020 that got us really inspired, so we hope you will be, too.

GREEN ACCENTS

Green tones have been in the center of attention for some time now and it seems that we will continue to see a lot of them this year. And we can understand why. We are turning to nature to seek relaxation and tranquility in our daily lives. Also, natural and sustainable home pieces are chosen more and more often. So it is only natural that we want to see green shades around us.

How to add more green to your home is only a matter of imagination. You can add splashes of green by decorating your sofa with cushion covers or opting for an unconventional yet fresh green tablecloth and even pairing it with other shade of green napkins. Turn your bedroom into a forest-inspired corner of tranquility by going for a deep green bed set. Prints or paintings with greenery will surely strengthen the look. Last, but not least and probably the simplest way to incorporate green shades into your interior is to adopt more house plants. Huge, leafy plants are great for spacious rooms and smaller ones can find their place in the bedroom or kitchen.

DELICATE FLORAL PATTERNS

Delicate floral patterns are a hit in the world of fabrics this year, be it used for a dress or a tablecloth. Interior wise we will be seeing more table linen or curtains, cushion covers and other home linen with delicate flowers and plants. And among all the variations and styles, 70s retro flowers should be especially popular. In any case, delicate soft flower patterns will surely add some cheerful summer meadow inspired notes to your home.

If you are into this trend, it is quite easy to match it to other trends or to incorporate it into your existing interior. Try to identify the dominant colors in the space where you want to add florals and then choose a floral pattern that matches the dominant color. Although be careful when using two or more patterns next to each other as they may create a dissonance.

COLORS ARE THE NEW NEUTRALS

Bold colors, vivid accents, and color blocks are replacing the neutral soft tones so we encourage you to look for more opportunities to incorporate color in your interior. Bright colored table linen, vivid pottery and vases, colored cabinets and even nonmatching sofa and armchairs - anything goes as long as you feel comfortable. One little tip - it is best to choose one or two dominant and vivid colors and then play around with darker and lighter tones to create a colorful look but still keep it in harmony.

If you love light, neutral, earthy tones but feel intrigued by this trend, opt for brighter peach and burnt orange instead of soft pinks and nudes.

BLACK AND WHITE INTERIOR

The oh-so-classic combination of black and white should really receive a generous amount of attention this year, interior design-wise. You may treat it as a more edgy and structured take on the neutrals. This strong duo enables you to create a bold, modern and urban look if you go for monochrome black and white pieces, especially if you play with white background and black details. For a softer, more diverse result you can try introducing black and white patterns, stripes or checks to blend the two colors together and create a smooth transition between these two opposites.

If you lean towards colors more but feel that this black and white trend got your curiosity, try playing around with black and white details more or dedicate one room or space to it. For example, look for black accents to your all-white bathroom or go with a white tablecloth and black accents on the table, like black and white striped placemats, black candles or vases.

CLASSIC BLUE (AND ALL OTHER SHADES OF BLUE)

Classic Blue being a Pantone color of the year 2020, you can be sure to see blue tones everywhere this year. Although classic blue will probably get the most attention, we encourage you to embrace a wider range of blue tones from deep, rich navy blue to light sky blue.

Blue is considered to be a calming, clean color so it is perfect for bedrooms, living rooms and bathrooms in particular as these are the spaces where we seek relaxation. So similarly as with green accents, you can go all-in with the blue by choosing centerpiece furniture, carpet or even dedicating the whole wall to this color. On the other hand, you can introduce this color via accents, like blue cushion covers, deep navy blue bedding, dusty blue towels or blue table linen.
